This series is called forever. ‘Forever’ is a pretty mind bending subject, something pretty hard to get your head around. The best way to see it is like a perfect circle. There is no beginning or end, it just keeps going! That’s what forever is like, we will spend forever with God in heaven, living on into eternity with Him!

This month we’re focusing on amazing people from the Bible who we’ll get to know in Heaven! Week one is Peter.

Peter lived a life with lots of changes. From fisherman, to disciple of Jesus, to leader of the early church, his life was full of ups and downs! One super memorable thing that Peter did was walk on water with Jesus! Peter had faith to ask Jesus to come out on the water with him because he had spend a lot of time with Him. Our main point this weekend was “Grow with Jesus” and that is one thing that we can learn from Peter’s life. The more we grow with Jesus, the more faith we will have in God!

1 Corinthians 9:24-25 says, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” We don’t want to get wiped out part way through our race, we want to make it to the finish line victorious! To run the race well, we need to train and practice. Our training comes from spending time with Jesus, getting into His Word, talking with Him and being in His presence.

Discuss the following questions with your child…

1. How can you grow in your relationship with God?

2. What is something you would like to do that you need God’s help for?

3. How does growing closer to God help us?

This past Sunday we learned about Peter walking on water. Print out the picture below and color it in!
